Instructor of Applied Guitar
Adam Cord’s guitar has been heard in coffee shops, churches, corporate events, and concert halls all over the Midwest. He holds a degree in Fingerstyle Guitar Performance from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where he studied under a leading scholar of steel-string fingerstyle guitar traditions, John Stropes. Adam has appeared onstage alongside or in support of guitar luminaries such as Phil Keaggy, Martin Taylor, and John Jorgenson. To date, he has recorded three CDs ranging from original compositions, hymn arrangements, and Christmas music. Adam also enjoys transcribing fingerstyle guitar music. He has transcribed several works by Phil Keaggy and contributed to published transcriptions of Leo Kottke. Malone University welcomed Adam as an instructor of Applied Guitar in the fall of 2010.
