Join us for a Fishing Derby at Varian Orchards in East Canton (lake pictured above) on Saturday, October 13, from 2:30-5:30 p.m. Enjoy fishing, lawn games, delicious baked goods and snacks, and rides on the apple trolley! Open to the public - all are welcome!

Download & print the flyer here

Experts from Malone's Fishing Club will be on hand to help children (and grown-ups!) catch fish - we're eager to welcome people of all ages! There's also a children's play area at the orchard.

Prizes for first fish caught, fattest fish, longest fish, etc. The lake is stocked with bass, blue gill, crappie, and sun fish.

For Dr. King's presidential inauguration at Malone, he has chosen to celebrate by promoting and hosting different service activities that will benefit churches, the city community, and the global community. For the global community aspect, be:justice has decided to host a fishing derby to raise money for Remember Nhu. Remember Nhu, founded by alumnus Carl Ralston '92, prevents children from entering the sex trade by providing children with safe homes and meeting their physical, educational, emotional, and spiritual needs.

Remember Nhu supports children in 11 countries, including Cambodia, Thailand, Ghana, the Philippines, and more. Eventually, each of these homes will have a Food Machine installed on the property, which allows each Children's Home to be self-sustaining by producing food for the children and even the village. 100 percent of the proceeds will go to Remember Nhu to purchase a Food Machine - each generally costs around $3,000.

There is no admission price, but there will be many opportunities to donate or to purchase items that will benefit Remember Nhu.

Please invite your family and friends! View a map to Varian Orchards or the address for your GPS is: 6344 Orchard View Drive Southeast, East Canton .
