The goal of the Health and Human Performance specialist is to assist others in learning about healthy life choices and integrating this knowledge into their daily lives in order to become good stewards with regards to the care and use of the body. To meet the varying needs of health and human performance students, seven degrees and five minors are provided. Two of the seven degree programs lead to teacher licensure. Students may receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in Adult Fitness, Community Health Education, Outdoor Leadership, Sport Management and Exercise Science; or a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Education and Physical Education. Minors include: Adult Fitness, Athletic Training, Coaching, Community Health Education, and Outdoor Leadership. Students pursuing either of the teaching majors must have a minimum 2.75 gpa in major course work and a minimum 2.75 gpa overall to be accepted into teacher education.
