Eligibility & Application Process

Honors Program faculty are interested in intellectually gifted and highly motivated students.

High school students with a 3.6 grade point average or higher and an ACT composite score of 26 or higher are eligible for the Honors Program at Malone University, but admission to the Program is through an application process.

Transfer students who have participated in an honors program at their previous college are automatically admitted to the Program provided the grade point average is at least 3.5. Transfer students are given credit for previous honors courses. Transfer students who have not previously participated in an honors program must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 to be eligible to apply.

Students who are already attending Malone can also inquire about admission to the Honors Program, and frequently students are recommended by Malone professors. Several students have been admitted after their first semester at Malone.

Application Process: Application

High ability high school students who have been admitted to Malone University as an “honors admit” will automatically receive an invitation to apply to the Honors Program. Invitations are sent out within two weeks after acceptance to Malone to apply online to the Honors Program. Once a complete application is submitted, the Honors Program Committee will review the application and grant entrance to the Program. Two recommendation letters also are needed - feel free to print pdfs for distribution.

Applications will be accepted throughout the academic year until the cohort of new students is full.
