Jay Case has served as an Assistant Professor of History at Malone College since 1999.  He earned a B.A. in History/Education from Taylor University in 1984.  He received his M.A. and Ph.D. (1995 and 1999) in American history from the University of Notre Dame.  Prior to graduate school, he and his wife Elisa taught for six years at the Rift Valley Academy, a school for the children of missionaries in Kenya. 
 
He holds memberships in the Conference on Faith and History, the American Society of Church History, the Historical Society, the Organization of American Historians, and the American Historical Association. 
 
Dr. Case's main areas of interest are in American Religious History and Evangelicalism, particularly the nineteenth-century missionary movement.
