Dr. Glasgow, a native of western Kentucky , has been an assistant professor of computer science at Malone College in Canton , Ohio since 1998.  He came to Malone with 21 years of IT experience as a programmer, consultant, and corporate manager of information systems.  Jim has lived in northeastern Ohio since 1975.  He owns Green Forest Properties, LLC, an Ohio Limited Liability Company with commercial and residential properties in Lyon County, Kentucky.  
 
Jim earned a Ph.D. with a concentration in arts and sciences and a specialization in computer ethics from The Union Institute & University in Cincinnati.  His dissertation was entitled, “Integrating Ethics into the Computer Science Curriculum, Focusing on the Database Course.” Additionally, he holds a L.S.M. in computer science & philosophy from Kent State University (1997) and a M.S. in technical education from The University of Akron (1987).  His research interests include computer ethics and the philosophical concept of justice.

He has been a member of several professional organizations including the Ohio Philosophical Association and the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) since 1983.  He serves as a faculty advisor for the Malone College AITP Chapter.  He has been involved with the IBM Academic Initiative for the Z series mainframe.  He has 14+ years of experience with the Pick (now IBM U2 - UniVerse) database environment.  Dr. Glasgow has given presentations in the area of computer ethics in New York, North Carolina, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
 
Jim is a FBI InfraGard member and has attended meetings at the Cleveland FBI office.  InfraGard is associated with the FBI and is dedicated to sharing sensitive but unclassified information and intelligence to prevent hostile acts against the United States .
 
Jim has maintained his membership at Fairview United Methodist Church in Lyon County, Kentucky; a Church founded by the Glasgow family in 1891.  Additionally, he has been involved in boy scouts and other community service activities.  In 2004 he was selected for membership in the honorable order of Kentucky Colonels where he has received medals of distinction and is a life member of the Lyon County (KY) Historical Society.
