Jacci
Welling completed her baccalaureate degree in Social Sciences at Malone College
and earned an M.A. in urban studies and a second master’s degree in history,
both from The University of Akron. She received her Ph.D. in history from Case Western
Reserve University,
where she focused on American housing policy. Jacci served as Director of
Administration and Community Services at the Stark Metropolitan Housing
Authority, Director of Alumni Services at Malone
College, and lecturer in Chinese and
Southeast Asian civilizations at The University of Akron before returning to Malone College
to teach in 1999. Jacci’s current
scholarly interests include Quaker mission and housing policy in small
metropolitan centers. She is a member of
the American Association of Historians, Association of Asian Studies, Ohio
Academy of History, Friends Historical Association, and Friends Association of
Higher Education.
Malone's Worldview Forum will commemorate the 40th
