Jonathan Willis is the director of the "Pioneer Spirit" Marching Band, Jazz Ensemble, and Brass Ensemble.  Mr. Willis also teaches courses in Brass Methods, Jazz History, Marching Band Techniques, and Instructional Music Technology.  Currently in his 5th year at Malone College, Mr. Willis is a professional member of the OMEA, MENC, OPCICA, and the International Trombone Association.

In addition to his duties at Malone College, he currently serves as the Music Director of the Junior Military Band of Warren-Youngstown, OH -- a nationally recognized youth arts organization for musicians 12 to 21 years of age.  As a composer/arranger he has written music for numerous school bands, including Youngstown State University, Jackson-Milton High School, Mathews High School, Brooke High School (WV), Foster High School (TX), Warren Local High School, Beaver High School (PA), the Warren Junior Military Band, and the Malone College "Pioneer Spirit" Marching Band, Brass Ensemble, and Symphonic Band.  As a graduate student and while serving as Associate Director of Bands at Youngstown State University Mr. Willis served as the chief drill writer and music arranger.

Mr. Willis holds two degrees from Youngstown State University, a Bachelor of Music and a Master of Music degree in Performance. Prior to his duties at Malone College, Mr. Willis was a member of the "World Famous" Glenn Miller Orchestra under the direction of Larry O’Brien (Spring 1998 - January 2000), and before that was the Associate Director of Bands at Youngstown State University (Fall 1995 - Spring 1998).  Mr. Willis continues to freelance as a professional trombonist with the First Class Jazz Orchestra and the Warren Packard Concert Band.  Mr. Willis is an Austintown-Fitch High School graduate and a former member of the Warren Jr. Military Band.  He currently resides in North Canton, OH.
