Kathy Haas is an Associate Professor in the Human Performance Department. Prior to her appointment to Malone, Kathy spent thirteen years as a Professor and women's basketball coach at West Virginia Wesleyan College. She came to Malone in 1991 and "retired" in 2001 from coaching after 23 years. Kathy received her B.A. degree in Physical Education/Health Education from Marshall University and her M.A. in pedagogy from The Ohio State University. Her main areas of teaching include upper division professional courses and the teacher preparation program. Kathy is a member of the American Alliance of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD) and OHAPHERD. She presented a paper at the National Convention on Insights into Pre-service Teaching for Elementary Physical Education. Her favorite scripture: Joshua 1:9 "Be strong and of good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed; for the Lord thy God is with thee wherever thou goest."
