Art History

Art History is a springboard to many exciting careers in the art world, including working in museums and galleries, teaching, and more! Engage in internships with museums and galleries as you explore the role art plays in society - politically, culturally, and socially.

Creative growth is nurtured at Malone, where you are inspired by artist professors and a close-knit group of fellow students. The Northeast Ohio area offers an inspiration environment for the artist, a rich and internationally known collections of museums such as the Cleveland, Carnegie, Akron, and Canton Museums of Art. You will have many opportunities to exhibit your work on- and off-campus in student shows, in local, regional, and national exhibits. Internships are available with museums and galleries, including the Malone Art Gallery where students are involved in planning, marketing, and installing exhibitions. Faculty are active in the local arts community and have working experience in the museum field, giving students the opportunity to work alongside them to find their niches within the art history field.
