University recognized outstanding members of its faculty and staff at the
annual Celebrating Excellence chapel service.
2011 awardees are:
Julie Pizor, accounts receivable in the business office, was named Outstanding Staff Employee of the Year.
Charlie Grimes, director of
athletics and intramural sports, was named Outstanding Administrative Employee
of the Year.
Distinguished Faculty Awards were presented in three areas: teaching, service, and scholarship/creative expression. Faculty, staff, and students were invited to nominate full-time faculty members for consideration by a selection committee. The committee was composed of faculty, administrative personnel, and students.
2011 Distinguished Faculty Award recipients are:
Gregory Miller, professor of history since 2000, College of Theology, Arts & Sciences (Department of History, Philosophy & Social Sciences), received the award for teaching;
Malcolm Gold, professor of sociology since 1999, College of Theology, Arts & Sciences (Department of History, Philosophy & Social Sciences), received the award for service; and
Maria Lai-Ling Lam, professor of business administration since 2001, School of Business & Leadership, received the award for scholarship and creative expression.
