The Malone University College of Theology, Arts, and Sciences – Department of Language and Literature will continue their Spring Writers Series Wednesday, March 16 at 7 p.m. in the Memorial Chapel of the Johnson Center for Worship and the Fine Arts, and Thursday March 17 at 4 p.m. in Cattell Library – both on the campus located at 2600 Cleveland Avenue N.W. in Canton, OH.
Speaker at both sessions will be Mike Carson, the university’s spring semester writer in residence. Carson is emeritus professor of English at the University of Evansville, where he taught writing and literature. He is also the author of the poetry collection The Keeper’s Voice. The Wednesday evening program is called “Sacred Poetry: The Psalms” where he will discuss praying the Psalms. Thursday’s program follows with a poetry reading.
The series continues Thursday, April 7 at 4 p.m. with a reading and craft talk with Mary Grimm in the Cattell Library. Grimm is associate professor of English at Case Western Reserve University and author of the story collection Stealing Time, as well as the novel, Left to Themselves.
All Writers Series programs are free and open to the public.
