The Malone University College of Theology, Arts, and Sciences – Department of Music will present a senior recital Monday, April 11 at 7:30 p.m. in the Stewart Room of the Randall Campus Center. The program – featuring Catherine Reese, soprano, and Timothy Fair, piano – is free and open to the public.
Catherine Reese is a senior music education major from Lakewood. She has served as the librarian and alto section leader for the Malone Chorale for the past two years and had the privilege of working with the Malone Women’s Concert Choir as a student conductor in the spring semester of 2010. Catherine was also the secretary for Malone’s chapter of Ohio Collegiate Music Educators Association for the 2009-2010 school year. She holds a work-study position in the Malone Fine Arts Office and is a faculty assistant for David Donelson, Ed.D., and Professor Rachel Núñez. She also conducts the choir at Bethel Lutheran Church in Canton. Catherine studied voice with Rachel Núñez for three years and she has been with her current instructor, Cynthia Wohlschlager, for two semesters. She plans to student teach in the fall and graduate in December 2011.Timothy Fair is a senior at Malone University pursuing a bachelor of science degree in music education. He has studied piano for four year with Professor Sandra Carnes. He is a member of the Malone University Chorale and Piano Ensemble and sang with the University Chamber Choir for two years. Timothy is the secretary of the Malone University Chapter of the Ohio Collegiate Music Educators Association. He has been awarded the J. Walter and Emma Malone Scholarship, the Ohio Academic scholarship, and the Carnes Piano Pedagogy Scholarship. Timothy also teaches piano lessons through the Malone University Preparatory Program and was a participant in Piano Extravaganzas V and VI. Timothy is a native of Holmesville.
