Chancel Players Scheduling Now

The Malone University Department of Church Relations is pleased to announce that members of Chancel Players, Malone’s student drama outreach group, have been selected and are now scheduling for the September 2011 - April 2012 season.

Celebrating their 31st year as a touring ministry, the Malone University Chancel Players is a group of five talented students who perform faith-based comedy and drama in schools and churches as well as various community organizations.  This show is unlike many drama teams in the sense that it utilizes many creative genres. The group performs a set between 30-45 minutes in length, in begins with an “introduction” song parody, then weaves scripture throughout comedic skits, sketch art, drama, and ends with a meditative and contemplative song to minister to the soul.

Chancel players is directed by Deanna Dallas, who has toured 2 years with Florida State University’s The Moving Company and holds a bachelor of arts degree in theatre arts from Florida State University. She is now serving for the group, in her eighth season as director for the group and her 12th year in the service of Malone University.

Members of the 2011-2012 Chancel Players are:

  • Jared Hoffmeyer, a junior exercise science major from Minerva
  • Julian Law, a junior Bible and theology major from Caldwell
  • Alexis McCullough, a junior art major from Newark
  • Rebecca Miller, a junior biology major from Canton
  • Erin Moore, a senior communication arts major from Stow
