Graduate Program Information Meetings, October
Malone University will present information meetings for each of its six
graduate programs on Monday, October 4, at 6 p.m. in the Fred F.
Silk Auditorium of Mitchell Hall. Light refreshments and
registration begin at 5:45 p.m. Prospective students may visit with the
program directors and graduate admissions personnel regarding pursuing a
master’s degree in education (M.A.Ed.), counselor education
(M.A.Ed.), theological studies (M.A.T.S.), business administration
(M.B.A.), nursing (M.S.N.), and the new master of arts in organizational
leadership (M.A.O.L.) which is offered partially online.
M.A.T.S. Malone’s master of arts in
theological studies degree provides the biblical, theological and
practical ministry knowledge needed to prepare non-ordained church staff
and lay leadership for effective Christian service. The program is
also appropriate for select ordained clergy. Classes meet one evening
each week and students may complete the program in six terms taking
classes on a part time schedule. Four of the classes are offered
online. A concentration in Sports Outreach Ministries is also
available.
M.B.A. The two-year master of business
administration degree is designed for professionals who desire to
sharpen their skills for the competitive work environment. Coursework
focuses on problem-solving through business theory and practice.
M.A.O.L. The master of arts degree in
organizational leadership offers a hybrid delivery system, meaning that
six courses are offered on campus and four courses are taken online.
This enables the student, if they wish, to take up to two courses at a
time leading to a 16-month completion time frame. Additionally, the
program is offered in two tracks. One track is for the leader who wants
to complete his or her formal education at the MAOL level. The second
track is for those students who desire to continue their education
beyond the master’s level. This track has an additional research
component that prepares the student for doctoral studies. The degree is
designed to focus on the human component of organizations, developing
inspirational leaders who understand how to impact vision and high
ethical standards into their organization.
M.S.N. The master of science in nursing
degree may be earned in 24 months. The lock-step program tracks are for
clinical nurse specialist (CNS) with an adult health focus and family
nurse practitioner (FNP) with a primary care focus. Most courses use a
one-day-a-week schedule, plus clinical hours to qualify for the
certification exams.
M.A. Ed. The graduate program in education
provides advanced study in the disciplines of curriculum and
instruction, curriculum, instruction, and professional development,
reading, and intervention specialist.
M.A.Ed. Counselor Education and Human Development prepares the
professional in clinical counseling, school counseling, or addresses
teachers’ needs through classroom-based counseling and advocacy. These
programs meet the professional needs of Ohio educators and clinical
counselors, and prepare them for leadership in their respective
settings. Evening and Saturday classes are offered to meet the needs of
the working professional.
