Former Professor John David Geib will address students and the community at the Be:Justice Seminar, The Untold Consequences: War and its Lesser Known Effects on October 4 at 7 p.m. in the Brehme Conference Center.
Malone University’s social justice awareness organization, "be:Justice"is hosting "Justice Monday" seminars the first Monday of the month in October (October 4), November (November 1), and December (December 6). All seminars will be located in the Brehme Conference Center at 7 p.m.
First in the series will be The Untold Consequences: War and its Lesser Known Effects. Guest speaker will be John Geib, D.Phil., founder and dean, The Logos Institute. The program is free and open to the public.
Dr. Geib is a 1977 graduate of Malone University. While serving as instructor of biblical studies at Malone, he was instrumental in the founding of the University’s Worldview Forum Series.
Since 1986, Dr. Geib has given more than 700 educational presentations in churches, conferences, and social contexts under Ezra Enterprises LLC . He has also been called upon to provide commentary and perspective to the History channel’s Biography series. Dr. Geib was formally educated at Oxford Graduate School, Crystal Springs, TN, where he earned the D.Phil.; Talbot School of Theology, Biola University, La Mirada, CA., where he earned the M.A.; Malone University, where he earned the B.A., and the Moody Bible Institute, Chicago, IL.
Today, he serves as founder and dean of The Logos Institute, providing serious continuing education in biblical and theological studies in a non-sectarian manner.
Malone University recognized Dr. Geib as its 2009 Alumnus of the Year.
November's topic is, "Tomorrow Needs You Today" with guest speaker Adam Woods of the Two Futures Project.
December's topic is, "Conscientious Consumerism" with guest speaker Tanya Hershberger.
