Kaitlin Fox, a junior Bible/theology major from Mentor, OH was the recipient of the judges' favorite award for a photograph she had entered at the 89th annual National College Media Convention, held in Louisville, KY this semester. Kaitie also serves as the photo editor and a photographer for the University’s student online newspaper, The Aviso: www.theaviso.org.
The convention was sponsored by the Associated Collegiate Press (ACP) and College Media Advisers (CMI) in association with College Broadcasters, Inc (CBI).
Kaitie’s award-winning photo is featured on slides #4 and #5 on the link below:
ACP, CMA, and CBI presented nearly 400 learning sessions, from high-profile keynotes to specific, problem-solving breakouts, hands-on workshops and discussion groups. Other convention activities included an exhibit hall with vendors who sell to student media, ACP’s Best of Show contest, receptions, awards convocations, critiques and a newspaper job fair.
Additional breakout sessions for newspapers, online outlets, broadcast stations, yearbooks and magazines met the publishing and broadcasting needs of represented college and university student media.
With typical attendance of more than 2,300 delegates, the annual ACP, CMA, and CBI fall gathering has become the place to seek solutions to the most challenging publishing and broadcasting problems, share success stories, see what’s new in the media marketplace, discover trends and network with students and advisers from the United States, Canada and often other countries.
