Pioneer Men's Golf Alum Justin Lower To Compete At This Week's Memorial Golf Tournament

Former Malone University men's golf standout Justin Lower will take part in this week's Memorial Golf Tournament on the PGA Tour.  Lower, currently competing on the Web.com Tour, earned an exemption to participate in the event which will be held at Muirfield Village Golf Course in Dublin, Ohio May 29 - June 1.

The Memorial will mark Lower's second PGA Tour appearance.  Last summer the Canal Fulton, Ohio native earned an exemption to compete in the Reno-Tahoe Open.

Lower finished second in the National Golf Association (NGA) Tour rankings in 2013 and earned conditional status on the Web.com Tour this past past December with a strong showing at "Q School".  Entering this week, he has made the cut at three straight Web.com Tour events, including a Top Ten finish (tied for 9th) at the BMW Charity Pro-Am earlier this month.

Lower earned an individual NAIA National Championship as a junior at Malone in 2010 and became the first four-time NAIA and NCCAA (National Christian College Athletic Association) All-American in Pioneer men's golf history.  In 2010, he was tabbed as the NAIA's Jack Nicklaus Player of the Year, an award given by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA), recognizing the individual who had the best overall season.  In addtion, Lower was also the 2011 recipient of the David Toms Award, a GCAA honor presented annually to one men's collegiate golfer (among all levels) who has overcome adversity to achieve collegiate excellence.
