6278-Malone University Student Recital

. The Malone University College of Theology, Arts, and Sciences – Department of Music will present a student recital Monday, March 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Stewart Room of the Randall Campus Center, located on the campus at 2600 Cleveland Avenue N.W. in Canton. The recital – featuring senior Rachel Cohick, a music ministry major from Boiling Springs, PA, on piano; and junior Hannah Adler, a music major from Rochester, NY, soprano – is free and open to the public. A program follows:

Rachel Cohick is a senior majoring in music ministry at Malone University. Her primary instrument is piano which she currently studies with Michael Benson, D.M.A. She studies organ with Mark Thewes and is a member of the Piano Ensemble and Women's Concert Choir at Malone. Rachel teaches piano to beginner students through the Malone Preparatory Program and previously served as the accompanist for the Women's Concert Choir and for vocal students. She also accompanied the Malone University Chorale and Chamber Choir on their annual tour throughout the Midwest in 2011. Rachel has received the Malone Transfer Academic Scholarship, the David E. Baker Music Scholarship, and has been on the dean's list for five semesters. In addition, she plays violin and has held positions as a pianist and music intern at various churches. Rachel has studied piano with Mary Dobrea-Grindahl while a student at Baldwin-Wallace College.

Hannah Adler is a junior pursuing a bachelor of arts degree in music at Malone University. She is also pursuing a psychology minor. Her current voice instructor is Cynthia Wohlschlager and she is also studying piano with Ralitsa Georgieva-Smith. She is a member of the Malone University Chamber Choir and Chorale where she serves as secretary. She is a past member of the Women's Concert Choir. She has been awarded the J. Walter and Emma Malone Scholarship, a Vocal Music Scholarship, and has been on the dean's list for five semesters. She also has a love for theater and was a cast member of Into the Woods at Malone University in the fall of 2010. Hannah is from Rochester, NY.
