6290-Campus Carnival for Kids
6290-March 1, 2012
The Malone University School of Education's Council for Exceptional Children and Malone Pioneer Athletics will present a Campus Carnival for Kids Tuesday, March 27 from 6 – 8 p.m. in Osborne Hall on the Canton campus. This fun-filled event, designed for children with special needs and their families, is being offered at no charge! Reservations are required. Register online at www.malone.edu/carnival.
Legendary Cleveland Brown Don Cockroft, of the famed "Kardiac Kids," will be on hand, with his new book, The 1980 Kardiac Kids – A Season of Destiny, available for purchase, as well as offering autographs and photos.
The third annual Campus Carnival for Kids will allow children with special needs (ages 12 and younger) and their elementary school-aged siblings to enjoy two hours of fun, games, sports activities, snacks, and prizes. In addition, an area of quiet activities will be available, as well as a story corner hosted by the education honor society, Kappa Delta Pi. All carnival activities and refreshments are FREE! Parents and caregivers are strongly encouraged to accompany their children throughout the carnival as guests.
Every activity and carnival game station has been specifically designed to differentiate instruction based on the needs of each child, thus the event promises an evening of fun for children with special needs as well as their elementary school-aged siblings. Children with severe challenges are encouraged to attend. The carnival will feature: clowns, a petting zoo, a theatre troupe, jugglers, free snacks, sports team challenges, balloon artists, special prizes, music, marching band, and lots of free carnival games!
Participating families are asked to enter the campus through the gated 25th Street entrance and park in the lot in front of Osborne Hall. Malone students will be stationed in the parking lot for those needing assistance.
