6296-Undergraduate Student Research Symposium

Malone University will present its fourth annual Undergraduate Research Symposium Tuesday, April 3 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. in the Brehme Conference Center located on the campus at 2600 Cleveland Avenue N.W. in Canton, OH. The event is free and open to the public.

The Malone University Research Symposium showcases the creative and academic scholarship of Malone undergraduate students.  The primary mode of presentation will be the academic poster.  Student self-designed poster presentations will be displayed throughout the Brehme Conference Center and student researchers will be on hand to answer questions. Hors d'oeuvres will be served.

Some examples of participating students and areas of scholarship include:

"Forgiveness as a Self-Regulative Process: A Journaling Study" by Joel Brady. Faculty mentor: Lauren S. Seifert

"Beyond the Trenches: The changing nature of ideological warfare shown through Great War Propaganda" by Craig Brown. Faculty mentor: Greg Miller

"The Process and Product of Translation" by Hannah Harker and Ashley Depew. Faculty mentor: Julia Villasenor

"Telomere Position Effect of Su(var) 3-9 Mutations in Drosophila melanogaster" by Sarah Varnell. Faculty mentor: Kathryn Huisinga

"Fractals and Music" by Sarah Fraker. Faculty mentor: Kyle Calderhead

"Burt's Bees: Sustainability in Action" Megan Barker, Danielle Brown, Marco Ondrusek, Jordan Fedor, Caleb Norrick, Sara Gingerich. Faculty mentor: Maria Lam

"Filming for Feminists: Adapting Louisa May Alcott's 'Little Women' to the Screen" by Jessica Kincaid. Faculty mentor: Jacci Stuckey Welling
