Soulful duo Over the Rhine will perform at Malone University on Saturday, October 27 at 7:30 p.m. in the Johnson Center for Worship and the Fine Arts as part of the Homecoming Inauguration events. Tickets—$10 for alumni; $15 for the general public—are available through Berean Christian Store, 1100 30th Street N.W. in Canton, online, or call the Office of Alumni and Parent Relations at 330-471-8454.
Over the Rhine is the talented, married pair of Malone University alumni Karin Bergquist '88 and Linford Detweiler '87. The artists have been named to Paste Magazine's list of 100 Best Living Songwriters.
Over the Rhine's newest album, The Long Surrender was released nationally on February 8, 2011 on OtR's own Great Speckled Dog label. It was recorded in California with Grammy winning producer, Joe Henry and contains a duet with Lucinda Williams on "Undamned" and two songs co-written with Joe Henry. Upcoming projects are tentatively titled "The Farm" and "Blood Oranges in the Snow."
