6390-Malone University welcomes two-time Super Bowl champ to Parents’ Weekend events

6390-September 11, 2012

To Malone University graduate student Logan Cole, he's "Dad." To most others, he's one of the best linebackers to ever play the game. Two-time Super Bowl champion, Pro-Bowler, and former Pittsburgh Steeler, Robin Cole will headline Parents Weekend activities at Malone University when he speaks Saturday, September 29, beginning at 4:30 p.m. at the Professional Football Hall of Fame, located at 2121 George Halas Drive NW in Canton.

Parents are welcome to join their Malone students beginning Friday morning for a weekend full of entertainment and education. View the Parents Weekend schedule.

Robin Cole was the first outside linebacker chosen in the 1977 draft as the Steelers selected him out of the University of New Mexico with their initial pick. A first-team All-American as a senior at New Mexico, Cole went on to play 11 seasons with the Steelers from 1977-87 and played his final year in 1988 with the New York Jets. The 1984 Pro-Bowler also contributed to the Steelers winning back-to back Super Bowl championship XIII and XIV.

Now a successful businessman, entrepreneur, inspirational speaker, and cancer survivor, Cole and his wife, Linda, make their home in Eighty-Four, Penn., near Washington.

Logan Cole, a 2012 Malone graduate from Akron is currently earning a master's degree in curriculum, instruction, and professional development at Malone University.
