6439-One Book One Community Series continues with Roundtable Discussion
6439-October 12, 2012
One Book One Community events continue with a roundtable discussion:
Catching the Spirit of Heroism
Tuesday, October 16 at 7 p.m. in the Johnson Center dining room.
The discussion of heroism will focus on the Spielmans' story and what really makes a hero.
The Mayor's Literacy Commission has selected the autobiographical book, That's Why I'm Here by Chris Spielman for the 2012 One Book, One Community program. Written with co-author Bruce Hooley, the book traces Spielman's football career, then relates the story of how Spielman and his wife Stefanie faced many challenges during her lengthy battle with breast cancer. The Mayor's Literacy Commission and co-sponsors Malone University and the Stark County District Library invite you to attend these special events and any of the book discussions.
Malone University, a Christian university for the arts, sciences, and professions in the liberal arts tradition, affiliated with the Evangelical Friends Church, awards both undergraduate and graduate degrees in more than 100 academic programs.
