6473-November 20, 2012
The Malone University Department of Zoo and Wildlife Biology will present the ZooArk Friday, November 30, beginning with an open house at 5 p.m., and an "Animal Encounters" show at 7 p.m. in Timken Science Hall on the campus located at 2600 Cleveland Avenue N.W. in Canton. The event – which will include animal encounters and a behind the scenes tour of the facility – is free and open to the public.
The University's former serpentarium of Timken Science Hall has been undergoing a transformation to allow for even more animals. The area has recently received fresh paint, as well as the beginnings of a rainforest mural with rainforest plants. The University recently quadrupled the number of animals in the zoo – with birds including parrots, mammals, tortoises, and snakes.
Get up close and personal with the friendly critters of Malone University's ZooArk!
The behind-the-scenes tour will provide firsthand experience with animal husbandry including food preparation and more.
