6532-Malone University Rho Tau chapter of Kappa Delta Pi presents alumni panel, “If I only knew…”
6532-February 15, 2013
Malone University's Rho Tau chapter of Kappa Delta Pi, International Honor Society in Education, will host its annual "If I only knew..." alumni panel Wednesday, February 20 from 7-8 p.m. in Mitchell Hall room 109, located on the campus at 2600 Cleveland Avenue N.W. in Canton. This well attended annual event features the candid testimony or Rho Tau alumni who have been teaching for five or fewer years. The purpose of the event is to help undergraduate students preparing to become educators better understand the realities of the post college teaching environment.
Past attendees have commented:
"In classes I always hear using visual aids is important, but I never imagined what a challenge it could be when using visuals with children with hearing impairments."
"The most valuable lesson I learned from these graduates is that graduation is the beginning of the learning curve, not the end."
This year's alumni, eager to give back to the chapter and fellow Malone teaching candidates, include teachers from across all licensure areas: Early Childhood, Middle Childhood, Special Education, Math Education, and a graduate student transitioning from teaching Title I to a self-contained classroom mid-year.
Malone University, a Christian university for the arts, sciences, and professions in the liberal arts tradition, affiliated with the Evangelical Friends Church, awards both undergraduate and graduate degrees in more than 100 academic programs.
