The Malone University Department of Language and Literature's Creative Writing Series will welcome poet and author Julia Spicher Kasdorf, Ph.D., on Wednesday, March 20, and Thursday, March 21, to the campus located at 2600 Cleveland Avenue N.W. in Canton. Both programs are free and open to the public.
Wednesday, March 20 – 10 a.m.- The Johnson Center for Worship and the Fine Arts – chapel service:
Dr. Kasdorf will serve as featured panelist addressing the issue of Faith and Expression. Additional panelists will represent literature, music, theatre, and the visual arts.
Thursday, March 21 – 7 p.m. – Everett L. Cattell Library. Dr. Kasdorf will discuss her latest book, Poetry in America, published by the University of Pittsburgh in 2011. Other works include Sleeping Preacher and The Body and the Book: Writing from a Mennonite Life, named Book of the Year by the Conference on Christianity and Literature. Dr. Kasdorf serves as professor of English and women's studies at Penn State University.
