Malone University Student Research Symposium will take place April 20

6555-March 13, 2013

Malone University will present its fifth annual Student Research Symposium featuring undergraduate and graduate student research on Saturday, April 20 from 12 noon-2 p.m. in the Johnson Center for Worship and the Fine Arts, located on the campus at 2600 Cleveland Avenue N.W. in Canton. The event is free and open to the public.

The Student Research Symposium showcases the creative and academic work of Malone students. Unlike a typical class paper or project, authentic research crosses the boundaries of what is known to create new knowledge. Students work closely with faculty members who provide direction and support.Exciting projects from nearly every discipline are part of this celebration of student achievement.

This year's projects offer a diverse range of nearly 30 topics, including in part: Health Behaviors of College Students; Does Trust Affect Emotional Response?; "Comfort" Women Vs. Modern Day Human Trafficking; The Effects of Diet, Cardiovascular Exercise, and Weight Training on Body Composition; and an analysis of the game Euchre.

The primary mode of presentation is the academic poster.  Student self-designed poster presentations will be displayed throughout the Johnson Center, and student researchers will be on hand to answer questions. Refreshments will be served.

Malone University, a Christian university for the arts, sciences, and professions in the liberal arts tradition, affiliated with the Evangelical Friends Church, awards both undergraduate and graduate degrees in more than 100 academic programs.
