Malone University awards outstanding faculty, staff, administrator

Malone University announced the 2013 recipients of the Distinguished Faculty Awards and Outstanding Staff and Administrator at the annual "Celebrating Excellence" chapel service earlier today.
Distinguished Faculty Awards recognize faculty excellence in the areas of teaching, scholarship/creative expression, and service. Each year, faculty, staff, and students are invited to nominate full-time faculty members for consideration by a selection committee. The committee is composed of the previous year's distinguished faculty, administrative personnel, and at least two students. Nominees are asked to submit a written statement about their teaching, service, or scholarship/creative expression.
The recipients of this year's Distinguished Faculty Awards are:
Teaching: Nicholette Rogers, Ph.D., assistant professor of biology since 2008
Service: Marcia Everett, Ph.D., professor of communication arts and director of The College Experience since 1995
Scholarship: Duane Watson, Ph.D., professor of New Testament studies since 1989
In addition the University recognized the 2013 Employees of the Year, nominated by colleagues and selected by committee.
Outstanding Staff Employee of the Year: Linda Hamilton, administrative assistant in the Department of Theology since 2006
Outstanding Administrative Employee of the Year: Deborah Craven, office coordinator for the Office of Graduate Enrollment and Professional Studies since 1994
