Stephen Weingart named Vice President for Advancement at Malone University

Malone University has promoted Stephen Weingart to the position of vice president for advancement. Weingart had been named associate vice president in March. In his new role, he will oversee all aspects of the University's advancement operations as well as cultivate and manage a portfolio of donor and prospect relationships.
Weingart brings to this role a long history with Malone University as a 1988 graduate, a member and president of the University's Alumni Executive Board and, more recently as a member of the Board of Trustees. As a Trustee, Stephen has served as chair of the Enrollment Management and Marketing Committee, vice chair of the Board and as a member of the Blue Ribbon Commission on University Status.
Weingart's predecessor, Howard Taylor, has accepted the newly created position of senior gifts officer, fulfilling an important and valuable role in stewarding and growing relationships with many of the University's key long time donors and friends, while strengthening the University's planned giving initiatives.
According to President David King, "Since coming to Malone as associate vice president for advancement in March of 2013, Stephen has shown a ready acumen for the operations and strategies associated with advancement. As an alumnus Stephen also brings to the position a lived Malone experience and a passion for stewarding and advancing our mission."
Stephen holds the bachelor of arts degree in communications from Malone University as well as the MBA from Baldwin Wallace College. In addition, he has completed post-graduate work at the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University.
Weingart was employed by FedEx 1988-2013, holding positions of increasing responsibility and scope culminating in the role of global business strategist / manager, international business development since 2004. Stephen has been recognized for his performance and leadership at FedEx with their Bravo Zulu (2003), Five Star (2010) and Diamond (2012) Awards.
He is married to alumna Beth (Pickens), a 1987 graduate of Malone University and sixth grade teacher. The Weingarts have two children, Austin and Olivia; both attend Lake High School in Uniontown, Ohio.
