Sharon Sirpilla is named associate vice president for development at Malone University

Malone University has named Sharon Sirpilla associate vice president for development. She steps into the role vacated by Stephen Weingart, who recently accepted the position of vice president for advancement. In her new role, Sirpilla will oversee multiple aspects of the University's advancement operations with a special focus on fundraising activities.
Sirpilla holds a bachelor of science degree in physical education and sports communication from Slippery Rock University where she also participated as a student athlete on the tennis team. She earned a master of arts degree in Christian ministries with a concentration in counseling from Malone University. She is a graduate of the Institute for Chamber Management from the University of Notre Dame, a graduate from Leadership Stark County, and a recipient of the Canton Jaycees Distinguished Service Award.
Sirpilla comes to Malone from Walsh University, where she served as director of gift planning and major gifts. Prior to that position, she served in various capacities of development at the University of Akron. In addition, she has worked for the Canton/Stark County Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Stark Community Foundation, as well as with the Pittsburgh Penguins Hockey organization.
An active community volunteer, Sirpilla has served on the Ohio High School State Football Championship Committee, the Pro Football Hall of Fame festival committee, and as a board member with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Canton. In addition, she has participated in missions trips to Nicaragua and Poland. She currently serves as a trustee with the Canton Rotary, assistant coach for girls' lacrosse at Jackson High School, and as a girls' high school youth mentor. She is an active member of Attwell Church in Akron, Ohio.
