Malone University students to host Christian leadership conference Katartizo on November 23

College of Theology, Arts, and Sciences. Malone University's Leadership and Staff Dynamics/Ministry class will host a one-day seminar, Katartizo, on Saturday, November 23 from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. in the Johnson Center for Worship and the Fine Arts, located on the campus at 2600 Cleveland Avenue N.W. in Canton, Ohio.
The event offers the opportunity to gain effective leadership skills through seminars, guest speakers, and activities – as well as networking opportunities with other leaders. Cost is $35 at the door or $15 for students. Ministry leaders such as pastors, youth pastors, student leaders, volunteers, and church staff are welcome to attend. Price includes lunch, dinner, coffee, and refreshments.
Guest speaker is missionary and founder of Generation Akron, Brandon Kightlinger. Brandon has spearheaded programs and worked with a team of leaders in the creation of initiatives including God.Bar, TKOVR (Youth Culture), the Hope Assembly Initiative, and "Man Class."
The name Katartizo encompasses the purpose of the event. In the Greek, Katartizo means to equip, put in order, adjust, and strengthen. Seminars include:

- Self-Care: Avoiding the Burnout
- Technology in Ministry
- Sports + The Church
- Creating and Sustaining a Leadership team
- Spiritual Disciplines
- Cognitive and Spiritual Development of Youth
- Making Disciples Who Make Disciples
The day will also include time for worship, networking and group activities.
