Malone University Department of Music percussion recital is December 2

College of Theology, Arts, and Sciences: The Malone University Department of Music will present a percussion ensemble Monday, December 2 at 7:30 pm. in the Stewart Room of the Randall Campus Center., located on the campus at 2600 Cleveland Avenue N.W. in Canton, Ohio. The program – directed by Scott Thomas – is free and open to the public. A program follows.

Scott Thomas holds a master's degree in music from Cleveland State. Currently director of percussion studies at Lake Local Schools in Stark County, Ohio, Scott maintains a large private teaching studio of students grades 5-12.  In addition to his duties as adjunct percussion instructor at Malone, he is an active freelance musician throughout Northeast Ohio.  He can be found performing with the likes of the Cleveland Pops Orchestra, The Youngstown Symphony, and the Northeast Ohio Jazz Orchestra.  Scott is also on staff as house drummer at the Canton Players Guild, producing professional Broadway shows throughout the year.  He is a current member of Percussive Arts Society and the American Federation of Musicians, Local 111.

  • Matt Parsons, a junior music production major from Canton, Ohio
  • Christina Stump, a freshman music major from Jeromesville, Ohio
  • Chris Tripp, a senior music education major from Uhrichsville, Ohio
