Malone University will present information meetings for each of its accelerated adult degree completion programs in management and nursing, as well as its six graduate programs on Monday, April 14, at 6 p.m. in the Fred F. Silk Auditorium of Mitchell Hall, located on the campus at 2600 Cleveland Avenue N.W. in Canton, Ohio. The Malone Management Program (MMP) is one of the first accelerated degree completion programs of its kind with more than 25 years of assisting the adult learner attain a baccalaureate degree. A student also has the option of taking the Malone Management Program entirely online.
U.S. News & World Report ranks it #33 for best online bachelor's degree program of the 190 colleges and universities ranked nationally. Malone's bachelor of arts degree in either organizational, project, marketing, health services, or environmental management is designed for nontraditional students with a minimum of five years of work experience who have some post-high school education. The degree may be obtained as fast as 15 months. Since the program began in 1984, nearly 4,000 adult students have completed their degrees; in fact, the program boasts an impressive 80 percent graduation rate. Small class groups advance through the entire program taking one class at a time.
The RN to BSN program: Registered nurses with a nursing diploma or associate degree can earn their BSN degree at Malone University in 14 months, including clinicals and group projects. The RN to BSN hybrid program – part online, part traditional classroom program -- features the best of both worlds: the flexibility of online learning with the traditional approach of face-to-face learning. Classes meet one night a week. This convenient schedule allows students to continue working while earning the degree. Students stay with their group of classmates for the duration of the program, completing one course before moving on to the next. Tuition covers books, class materials and related course fees. The year-long program, spread over 14 months, allows registered nurses to earn the equivalent of a 4-year bachelor's degree, with all requirements accomplished with a unique mix of one evening per week courses and online courses.
College of Theology, Arts, and Sciences:
M.A. in Theological Studies. Malone's master of arts degree in theological studies provides the biblical, theological, and practical ministry knowledge needed to prepare non-ordained church staff and lay leadership for effective Christian service. The program is also appropriate for select ordained clergy. Classes meet one evening each week and students may complete the program in six terms taking classes on a part time schedule. Four of the classes are offered online. The new 4+1 program allows students to earn both the bachelor and master of arts degrees in just five years.
School of Business and Leadership:
M.B.A. The two-year master of business administration degree is designed for professionals who desire to sharpen their skills for the competitive work environment. Coursework focuses on problem-solving through business theory and practice. Students also have the option of taking this program completely online.
M.A. in Organizational Leadership. This degree is designed to focus on the human component of organizations, developing inspirational leaders who understand how to impact vision and high ethical standards into their organization. This program offers a hybrid partial online and partial campus classroom delivery system, or the program can be taken completely online. The program can be completed in a 16-month time frame. Additionally, the program is offered in two tracks. One track is for the leader who wants to complete his or her formal education at the master's degree level. The second track is for those students who desire to continue their education with an additional research component that prepares the student for doctoral studies.
School of Nursing and Health Sciences:
M.S.N. The master of science in nursing degree may be earned in 24 months. The lock-step program tracks are for clinical nurse specialist (CNS) with an adult health focus and family nurse practitioner (FNP) with a primary care focus. Most courses use a one-day-a-week schedule, plus clinical hours to qualify for the certification exams.
School of Education and Human Development:
M.A. Ed. The graduate program in education provides advanced study in the disciplines of curriculum and instruction, curriculum, instruction, and professional development, reading, and intervention specialist.
M.A.Ed. Counselor Education and Human Development prepares the professional in clinical counseling, school counseling, or addresses teachers' needs through classroom-based counseling and advocacy. These programs meet the professional needs of Ohio educators and clinical counselors, and prepare them for leadership in their respective settings. Evening and Saturday classes are offered to meet the needs of the working professional.
