Malone University students attempt to honor William Shakespeare’s birthday with world’s record

It may not be "Guinness" but a world's record by any other name would smell just as sweet. And this particular world's record would land in the books of the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington, D.C.
Alpha Rho Iota, the Malone University branch of Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honor Society, and the University's Shakespeare class plan to celebrate The Bard's 450th birthday by attempting to break the world's record for "Most Participants in the Romeo and Juliet Balcony Scene."
The current record is 160, set in Boston. The unique birthday celebration will take place Wednesday, April 23 at 7 p.m. on the steps of the Everett L. Cattell Library located on the campus at 2600 Cleveland Avenue N.W. in Canton. Student participant registration will begin at 6:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
