Malone University’s Kara Kaelber is Ohio Counseling Association president-elect

Kara KaelberKara Kaelber, Ph.D., assistant professor of counselor and guidance education at Malone University since 2008, has been voted as president-elect for the Ohio Counseling Association for 2014-2015; she will serve as president of the Ohio Counseling Association for 2015-2016.

Dr. Kaelber is also a supervising licensed professional clinical counselor. She received her master of arts in education degree in community counseling from Malone University in 2001 and completed her doctoral studies in the counselor education and supervision program at The University of Akron in 2008. Dr. Kaelber has provided clinical counseling services to individuals and families for several years in an agency setting, in school settings, in a faith-based private practice setting, and currently at her church. In 2006, Dr. Kara Kaelber was awarded the Chi Sigma Iota Outstanding Practitioner Award at The University of Akron and was also awarded the Chi Sigma Iota International Outstanding Practitioner Award at the American Counseling Association Convention in Montreal, Canada. Dr. Kaelber is published in academic publications and has presented numerous times at professional conferences.

The Ohio Counseling Association is the professional organization representing all licensed counselors, and those in graduate training to be counselors, in Ohio.
