Art-in-a-Case at Malone will be on exhibit through May 16

Art-in-a-Case is currently featuring Inspiring the Journey through Metalsmithing, small metal works by Akron artist, Courtney T. Cable, through May 16.

Cable, an emerging artist in Akron, Ohio, creates jewelry and small sculptural works combing imagery from nature with text and quotes "to create positive, inspirational, and motivational pieces to provoke inner thought or action."

Cable writes, "I push to create provoking pieces that change the way people think and hope that my metalwork is a catalyst that opens new channels of thought and feelings for the viewer."

Cable, originally from Toronto, Ohio, earned an M.A. in arts administration from The University of Akron, a B.S. in communications and a minor in art from Ohio University; and is currently learning metalsmithing at The University of Akron Myers School of Art.

Her jewelry is available through the Zeber-Martell Clay Studio & Gallery in Akron, Ohio, and at www.zeber-martell.com.

Art-in-a-Case is displayed inside the Everett L. Cattell Library located on the Malone University campus, 2600 Cleveland Avenue, NW, Canton, OH 44709.

The library is open Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.; Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.
