The Malone University Writers Series will continue with
graduate students from the Creative Writing Program at Ohio University. The events – both taking place in the Everett
Cattell Library on the Canton campus – are free and open to the public.
Thursday, February 10, 8 p.m.: poetry and prose reading
Friday, February 11, 10 a.m.-12 noon: writing workshop: "Forming Free Verse."
Dave Wanczyk is an adjunct professor at Ohio University and a graduate of OU's
nonfiction Ph.D. program. His poems and essays have been published in
journals such as Brevity, The Bellingham Review, and the New York Quarterly.
Sarah Green is a poet and singer-songwriter in Athens (and sometimes Somerville, MA). She has been teaching creative writing, ESL, and literature to young people and adults in both community and university settings since 2002. She received her MFA from Purdue University and her BA from Oberlin College. Her poetry has won a Pushcart Prize.
Richard Shannon Smith is currently working on his M.A. in poetry at Ohio University. His poems have appeared in Rhino and Blue Earth Review.
