The Malone University Board of Trustees met October 15-16. Among actions taken, Cecile E. Fransman, Ed.D., was appointed to a three-year term. In addition, newly appointed Deborah Bartley began serving a three-year term; Sharon Kao-Huang began serving a two-year term.
Dr. Fransman currently serves as an educational consultant for the Lucas County Educational Service Center, Toledo, Ohio. In addition to her bachelor’s degree, she holds a master’s degree in social work and an Ed.D. in educational leadership, both degrees from Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, MI. Professional memberships include MAAEOPP – (Mid-America Association of Educational Opportunity Program Personnel) and NASW – (National Association of Social Workers). Dr. Fransman is also an ordained pastor with the African Methodist Episcopal Church.
Deborah Bartley is an active community volunteer, serving the Pregnancy Support Center of Stark County, Lake Center Christian School, the Boy Scouts of America, and First Christian Church. She holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Malone University. Debbie, her husband john, and their three school aged children reside in Hartville, OH.
Sharon Kao-Huang is an evangelical church minister and elementary school educator. She earned the B.A. in religion education from Central Taiwan Theological Seminary, the M.Div. from Evangelical Theological Seminary (PA), the M.A. in Christian education from Ashland Theological Seminary (OH), and pre-school certification from the Association of Montessori International (OH). She and her husband, the Reverend Dr. Samuel Huang, reside with their school aged children in Medina, OH.
