Randi Pahlau
 
Randi Pahlau is an instructor of English in the Language and Literature Department. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in English--Secondary Education in 1986 from Kent State University and her Master of Arts in English in 1995, also from Kent. Areas of emphasis include American Realism, British Renaissance, and British Victorian.
 
Randi regularly teaches Eng 145 Principles of Composition, Eng 200 Literature in Society, Eng 260 Professional Writing, and Eng 322 World Literature. A personal favorite is Eng 265 Jane Austen in Film.
 
Randi is a member of NCTE, MLA, OCTELA, and CCCC, all professional organizations for teachers of English. Her first publication is "Chekhov's Enemies" in the winter 2004 issue of The Explicator.
 
Randi has been married to Rick since 1986. They enjoy travelling and cooking gourmet meals together. Other hobbies include reading, playing the piano, and doing needlework. They attend Maranatha Bible Church where Randi is part of the Helps Ministry. Rick and Randi are the proud parents of the cutest little Shih Tzu ever--Scrunchy. His favorite book is Tom Sawyer, reflecting his free spirit.
 
Recently read books include Sandra Jackson-Opoku The River Where Blood Is Born, Anthony Grooms Bombingham, Wallace Stegner Crossing to Safety, and Tracy Chevalier Girl with a Pearl Earring.
