France and Germany Service Learning Trip 2012

Details: This trip will revolve around the largest ecumenical monastery in the world, Taizé, in the south of France. We will begin with a several day exploration of Paris, France followed by a week at the Taizé monastery, ending our time with several days in Eisenach, Germany, the site of Wittenberg Castle. We'll explore the connection between Catholicism and Protestantism, from the historic cathedrals of Paris to the room in Wittenberg Castle where Martin Luther translated the Bible into German amidst the Protestant Reformation. Participating in the daily prayers of the monks at Taizé, we will serve daily as part of the community of the monastery.
