Shawn Floyd (Ph.D., Saint Louis   University ) is an Associate Professor of Philosophy, and has taught at Malone since 1999.  He is a member of several professional philosophical organizations and is an area editor for the Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy.  He has published articles in The Modern Schoolman, History of Philosophy Quarterly, Logos, Christian Scholars' Review, The Heythrop Journal, and an edited volume entitled The Schooled Heart:  Moral Formation in American Higher Education, eds.  Michael Beaty and Douglas Henry ( Baylor   University Press, 2007).  His most recent article "Aquinas and the Obligations of Mercy" will be appearing in The Journal of Religious Ethics.  Currently, he is working on a book and several articles concerning virtue and pedagogy.  Dr. Floyd's philosophical interests are Ethics, St. Thomas Aquinas, and Philosophy of Religion.  He teaches courses in these same areas.  He also drinks lots of coffee.
