SOUP KITCHEN - For those of you wanting to serve, there is a free lunch program every 2nd and 4th Wednesday at Canton Calvary Mission. Located at 12th & Gibbs, about a mile away from Malone, they can use help anytime in the 10-1 time frame. Duties could include anything from meal preparation, grocery distribution, serving the food, or cleanup. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
Directions: Left on 25th, right on market, left on 19th, right on Gibbs; Canton Calvary is about 7 blocks down on the right. Transportation can be arranged if needed.
EYEGLASSES DRIVE - We would like to extend thanks to everyone involved in making this effort a great success. Thanks to your efforts we managed to collect 370 pairs of eyeglasses!

March 3rd 7pm Room TBA; 6 Steps to Starting Your Own Business REGIONAL COMPETITIONS -- WEDNESDAY APRIL 6th - Regional competitions in Cleveland. All SIFE members are invited to attend the competition and see what the events are all about. In Cleveland we'll have the opportunity to showcase our projects and hopefully will advance to Nationals. PLUS - there's a JOB FAIR! Transportation & lunch provided (with an excused chapel absence). E-mail Julia more detail as the time gets closer. We usually have a group of 20 or so there for the day. INTEGRITY IN THE WORKPLACE PRESENTATION -- We will be presenting for 7th and 8th graders. We will be reworking the old curriculum and presenting it to the classes. In-Class participation is expected to be around 45 minutes. Contact Juliafor details.
Students In Free Enterprise Founded in 1975, SIFE is a global, not-for-profit education organization that is improving the quality of life and standard of living around the world by teaching the principles and values of market economics. Working in partnership with business and higher education, SIFE organizes and motivates teams of university students who teach others an understanding of these principles and values.
SIFE’s program includes market economics, entrepreneurship, personal and financial success skills and business ethics. SIFE Teams are organized and guided by distinguished faculty advisors. SIFE Teams conduct their educational outreach projects throughout the academic year and are given the opportunity to showcase them at competitions where they present oral, audio-visual and written summaries to judges comprised of top business leaders who determine which teams did the best job teaching and equipping others with the tools necessary for success. National champions advance to the ultimate level of global competition, the SIFE World Cup.
The SIFE experience enables university students to reach their full potential by helping others reach theirs. Students acquire teamwork, leadership, communication and project management skills in a unique way, not typically gained through other For instance, many single mothers and families have been taught the tools and skills necessary to help them move off government aid, such as learning how to budget responsibly, achieve a higher educational success, interview successfully to land a job or even start their own businesses.
SIFE students encourage children to dream big dreams. Then they help level the playing field by teaching children the skills needed to achieve their dreams. SIFE also teaches the importance of getting a sound education, developing the right attitude and acquiring the skills necessary for success. Small business owners, entrepreneurs and communities become more successful through SIFE as SIFE students take the lessons they learn in the classroom and apply them to help solve real-life problems. Joining the SIFE team provides the opportunity to support these outstanding programs and the added value of quality networking with the prominent business leaders, students and educators who are active in the SIFE network. |
