Community Responsibilities: Distribution of Student Phone Number Policy
Because of Malone's desire to help to protect students from unwanted (harassing, obnoxious, obscene, annoying) phone calls, there is a policy in effect regarding the distribution of student telephone numbers.
The policy is for any receptionist (front desk, residence hall desk, or various campus offices) to only take messages or to transfer the call directly to a student's room. Phone numbers (extensions) will not be made available over the phone.
If they are on-campus, they may be referred to look in the Phiz. Although we can never completely avoid these types of unwanted phone calls, it is our sincere hope that this will help to minimize them. In the event that students do receive these types of unwanted phone calls, please make sure that you inform your R.A., R.D. or Security.
