When University Personnel Need to Enter Your Room
The responsibility of the University necessitates entry into students' rooms for the following reasons:
1. To provide maintenance and general repair to the room.*
2. In case of emergency or health or safety risks.
3. To investigate, when reasonable cause exists, possible violations of University regulations.**
*The University may make routine repairs during normal workdays and emergency repairs when necessary.
**If a staff member(s) should enter a room and notice evidence of a violation of University regulations, the staff member(s) may take that evidence and refer the incident to the appropriate staff member(s). If an item is taken when a resident is not in the room, the resident(s) will be promptly notified.
