Healthy Living

College success requires an alert mind and a healthy body! Follow these tips to maintain good health, and to live a safe and balanced life while you're in college:

 

Get enough sleep

  • Too little sleep is the number one cause of health and academic problems among college students
  • Eat a healthy breakfast
  • Avoid products with caffeine in the evening

Be physically active

  • Work out at the Wellness Center on a regular basis
  • Vary your exercise regimen
  • Participate in intramural sports
  • Walk or bike around campus

Be smart about your health

  • Wash your hands often
  • Wear flip-flops in showers and locker rooms
  • Visit the Health Center in WWF if needed

Learn to Relax

  • Take breaks when needed
  • Talk to friends and family

Eat and drink healthy

  • Go easy on the starches, sugars, and processed food
  • Include plenty of fruit, vegetable, and light proteins in your diet
  • Avoid late night snacks
  • Drink plenty of water
