Bio

Otis French serves as the director of Bands and Coordinator of Instrumental Music Studies. Dr. French hails from Berea, Kentucky, and holds a D.M.A. (doctor of musical arts degree) from the University of Maryland, a M.M. (master of music degree) from Indiana University, and a bachelor of arts degree in music and business administration from Saint Leo University.  He retired from the United States Army at the rank of major, after serving for more than 24 years on active duty worldwide.  His academic interests are the bands and music of the Civil War, and conducting pedagogy.  He lives in Alliance, Ohio, and has served on the faculty of Marquette University, Mount Union, and East Stroudsburg University.
