Adjunct: Coordinator of Worship Arts

Position: Coordinator of Worship Arts (part-time)
Starting date: Spring 2025

About the position

Malone University seeks a Coordinator of Worship Arts who would, in collaboration with music program director, provide leadership for a new worship arts major, providing curricular oversight, coordination of recruitment efforts, and guidance for student musicians.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for the new worship arts major, including curricular oversight and recruiting students for the program.
  • Develop and lead a worship arts ensemble
  • Provide worship services off campus in conjunction with admissions recruitment efforts at local Christian high schools, churches, and youth related events
  • Develop relationships with church leaders and youth pastors to create opportunities for the worship arts ensemble to perform and connect with potential students.
  • Utilize the worship arts ensemble to perform at admissions events, prospective student days, and other recruitment activities to showcase the program and attract new students.
  • Represent Malone when the worship arts ensemble tours
  • Contribute to music program curriculum related to the major
  • Teach courses related to the program and advise students in the program

Qualifications

  • Credentials: a master's degree or higher in music, ministry, or related field
  • Experience: developing and leading worship arts ensembles, leading worship music in various settings, and proficiency with keys/piano and guitar, additional proficiency in percussion would be an advantage.

About the Music Program

The music program at Malone offers three majors – BA in Worship Arts, BSE in Music Education, and a traditional BA in Music. The program also supports several music ensembles, including chorale, symphonic band, jazz band, worship arts, chamber choir, and steel pan, and various focused ensembles for music majors and any students interested inparticipating in music ensembles and lessons.
