Assistant Professor of Education (Non-Tenure Track)

Starting date: August 2024

SUMMARY: 

The Education Department of Malone University seeks a full-time faculty member with experience in classroom teaching and expertise in teaching undergraduate courses in education. Reporting to the Chair of education, the desired individual fosters excellence in teaching and learning, monitoring, and facilitating assessment and accreditation requirements and processes. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Normal teaching load is 12 credits per semester
  • Teach foundational courses in education including early childhood, intervention specialist, and early adolescent topics and interventions. 

qualifications: 

  • Ed.D. or Ph.D. preferred, Master’s degree in education or other related field required
  • Teaching experience in P-12 education required, preference to having a current or recently expired Ohio P-12 license, success in higher education teaching highly preferred
  • Attention to detail balanced by an innovative spirit and ability to promote engagement and collaborative problem solving
  • Strong commitment to teaching excellence, professional development and scholarly research
  • Deep personal commitment to Jesus Christ and an understanding of and commitment to the integration of faith and learning in the academic discipline. 

Departmental Information:

The Education Department offers several undergraduate majors leading to teacher licensure in the State of Ohio: Primary Childhood Education, Intervention Specialist, Middle Childhood, Adolescent to Young Adult, and Music Education.
