Affordable Colleges Online (ACO) , an authoritative resource dedicated to online learning and college affordability, has published its annual rankings of the Best In-State Online Colleges for the upcoming 2015-2016 school year.

Malone is ranked 13th in the state, the highest of all Stark County institutions.    Students have many options when choosing an online degree program, these represent the best in outstanding academic programs and support services.

"Third party endorsements are heartening as they give recognition and authenticity to the value of our programs," said President David King. "We serve our students in a variety of formats, but the quality and character of the education is distinctly Malone."

ACO determines rankings via a proprietary scoring system based on various cost-to-quality criteria and metrics, or the AC Online Peer-Based Value. This proprietary metric compares qualitative components of colleges with similar costs, against the tuition of colleges with similar quality metrics. The general criteria and scoring metrics include:

  • Must be not-for-profit institution
  • Number of online bachelor’s degrees available
  • Student-faculty ratio
  • Loan default rate
  • Job placement and career counseling for graduates
  • Online tuition rate
  • Six-year graduation rate
